In July, a Seattle-based team is flying to Haiti to offer a 2-day professional development workshop for 15 teachers, followed by a 2-day Creative Camp for 150 kids. The focus is on creative learning through the arts, engineering, and problem solving.
Based on what we learn during our field testing in Haiti, we’ll publish the creative challenges to this website (www.kreyatif.org) as a free resource for teachers all over Haiti.
An integral part of this process is the volunteer Content Review Team that we are assembling. The purpose of this team is for teachers, kid wranglers, and creative types to review and/or develop the creative challenges we are going to offer in Haiti.
A kick-off meeting for the team has been scheduled:
Content Review Team Kickoff
Monday, May 8th
8:00 PM-8:45 PM Pacific Time
Click this link 5-minutes before the start time: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/415515605
This is a web meeting, meaning we’ll communicate using the link above with a combination of video (optional if you’re shy) and audio (by phone or through your computer). It will probably take you 2-3 minutes to launch it the first time, but it gets really easy from there forward.
What We’ll Discuss
At this meeting, we will cover:
- The vision for Creative Camp and www.kreyatif.org
- The framework for the 20 challenges we’ll create
- How this team will review and create the content
Time Commitment for Volunteers
To save you the suspense of waiting for the meeting and having no idea of what you’re committing too, here is the time we would be asking from you:
- Joining an initial kick-off meeting (45 minutes)
- Reviewing a few of the challenge activities being designed for the kids (1 hour each)
- If you’re inspired, create a challenge (2 hours each)
Thanks for your interest in helping us review the content for Creative Camp in Haiti.
Can’t Attend the Meeting?
If you can’t make it to that meeting but are interested in volunteering, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll work something out.
We are very appreciative for any help you can offer. Without amazing content, this program will not succeed. Thank you!
